Welcome to the Fox Valley Rocketeers NAR Section #683. (FVR for short) We are a group of model rocketeers in the Fox Valley suburbs of Chicago in Northern Illinois - our membership is roughly centered in McHenry County. If you would like to fly rockets with us, we usually fly spring through the fall in the Woodstock, IL area. In the winter, we take a break from flying and usually have a field trip. We also meet once per month, typically the first Monday, at the Challenger Learning Center in Woodstock, IL.
We are always looking for new members, so if you are even curious, join us at one of our meetings - or even better - at one of our launches. We aren't charging any membership fees at this time and all are welcome. Click here to join our mailing list
March Events
On Monday, March 1st, we will hold our regular club meeting at the Challenger Center, 222 E. Church Street, Woodstock from 7:30PM - 9:00PM.
Our first launch of the season will take place on Sunday, March 21. The theme is a 1/8 A Marble Launch contest. Come out and fly, even if you don't have a marble to launch! The farm can handle rockets up to "G" power. See you at the Stephen's Farm, NOT the seed farm. Please see the LAUNCH page for complete details.
What's Hot?
FVR is going to hold its first contest of 2010 on March 21. The contest will be a Marble Loft using 1/8A Impulse engines ( Micro Maxx or Micro Maxx II). For a complete set of rules, please see the Launch page.

Not enough people signed up for the Challenger Center Mission on February 20th. We are going to reschedule for March/April - hopefully we can get more people to sign up, it sounds fun!
Kerry is going to present at NARCON 2010! He has provided me with a utility, which I've posted on the REPORTS page.
